Jack turned on the TV and watched the vapid sports anchor give out the results and wondered what the world was coming to; the Cincinnati Reds had won at baseball, England had won the soccer World Cup, some man called Eddie 'The Eagle' Edwards had come out of retirement to break the world record at ski jump and, worst of all, the Colorado Avalanches had decided their new hockey strip was going to be pink. Barbie pink. Deciding it was time for another beer Jack headed into the kitchen leaving the TV playing in the background. Just as he reached into the fridge he heard an excited news announcer proclaim a world exclusive - a Presidential candidate's illegitimate son had been found and they were hoping to bring live pictures of him now.

"Poor unfortunate bastard," Jack thought as he made his way back to his seat. Picking up the remote his hand stopped when he realised that the news crew was in a familiar place.

This is Susan Eastlight and I'm here outside his apartment block. As I reported earlier, the Senator's illegitimate son was fostered as a baby and his foster parents adopted him on his second birthday. I've just been granted access to his apartment block and will soon be at his door...

Jack tuned the reporter out as he recognised the building, the doorman and heck even the elevator.

"Daniel, are you watching TV?" Jack called out.

"You know I'm trying to get this translation done for General Hammond."

A loud knock resounded around the apartment and Daniel called out, "Can you get that?"

Unable to move or drag his eyes away from the screen, Jack sat where he was as the knock sounded again.

"Jack?"

When the knocking continued Daniel decided to open the door, it wasn't until Jack heard the archaeologist leave his study that he called out, "Don't answer the door Daniel."

"Why shouldn't I open the door?"

His only answer was, "You've got to see this."

Daniel made his way to where Jack was sitting and saw a woman standing in front of a door on the TV screen.

We believe that Dr Daniel Jackson and friend are inside at this time but as yet there has been no reply from his apartment here in downtown Colorado Springs.

Both men watched as the reporter pounded on the door and Daniel asked, "Why are they at my front door?"

"Seems like your father has been found."

"You know my father died..."

"Your birth father Daniel."

Suddenly the picture changed to a long black limo pulling up to the outside of Daniel's apartment building and the news announcer's voice could once again be heard.

As we reported before, our news reporter Susan Eastlight is currently trying to gain an interview with Dr Daniel Jackson who has been identified as the Senator's illegitimate son but it seems like the father himself is now arriving. We'll see what we can...

Daniel stood staring at the TV screen as a man got out of the limo.

"He's my birth father? They can't be serious, there's no way I'm descended from that..."

"NO!" echoed through the apartment.

"J'ck?"

Sitting up, Jack turned to look at the source of the sleepy voice and saw Daniel lying on the couch opposite him starting to stir, the book that precariously hung from his hand dropping to the floor.

"What's wrong?" Daniel asked

"How did I get here?"

"You were waiting for the news and fell asleep on the couch. I finished the translation and must have dropped off as well."

"So it was all a dream then?"

"What was a dream?"

"I... Uhh..." Jack took a deep breath and explained the images he'd seen to his lover.

"For heavens sake babe, that's the last time you have anchovies on your pizza."

"I'm telling you it was scary Daniel."

"So are all your dreams after you put those little fish on your pizza. When are you going to except that maybe you should be giving them a miss?"

"I think after this latest dream I've got the message."

"You said that last time after dreaming Teal'c was really the sugar plum fairy."

"This time I mean it. The thought that he could be your father is too much to take," Jack assured him giving an exaggerated shudder.

"Does that mean you're too mentally scarred to come to bed with me?" Daniel asked, a wicked gleam in his eye.

"Heck no," Jack declared as he stood up and reached for the remote to turn the TV off.

And in the sports round up tonight we'll learn why the Colorado Avalanches have decided their strip for the next season will be pink and look at the historic win by the Reds in baseball. But first up, the breaking story today is the revelation that Senator Kinsey has an illegitimate son...
