Summary: A younger Jack O'Neill, the the son of NCIS Special Agent, Jethro Gibbs-O'Neill, is in love with a man named Daniel. Jethro has been in love with Ducky for half his life

Young Jack O'Neill tried to look into his father's blue eyes... "I didn't mean to tell you like this, Dad... Not here at work."

Jethro Gibbs-O'Neill looked directly at his son, as they stood in the stilled Elevator. "It's okay... I won't fall apart."

Jack sighed in a 'Phew!' kind of way... "Okay then..." He said. "You're really okay with it? Doesn't break any of your rules or anything??"

"Son, you're not in the Military. I am. They're not going to cart you off and put you in prison just because you happen to be my gay son..." Jethro paused, noting the look of concern in Jack's face. "And they won't drag me off to boot camp either!"

Jack tried to grin. "I'm sorry for all this, Dad..."

"Hey, you're not a disappointment to me!" Jethro stood in front of his son, and clasped his shoulders. "And you're not a disappointment to your Mom or Kelly, in Heaven, if there is such a thing..!"

"Damn well hope so!" Jack affirmed. "Heaven..." He explained.

Jethro smiled. "Relax, boy... You'll be okay... You know how to look after yourself?"

"Dad, I'm in my twenties... I'm not Seventeen..." Jack defended and assured. "I work at the shipyard, earn a living, my Dad's a Marine, yeah, I know how to take care of myself... I know how to take care of myself, promise!"

Jethro smiled, cupping the back of his son's head affectionately... "I know you do..."

"Do you want to meet Daniel yet..?" Jack asked.

"Sure..." Jethro confirmed.

"He's a bit smart..!" Jack said, proud but shy. "He talks for England..!"

"Is he English?" Jethro asked.

"Nope..." Jack answered. "Not British at all... But I think he and Ducky would get along just fine... Didn't Ducky once say he thought of training to be an Archaeologist?"

"Yeah, he did..." Jethro smiled at his son...

When Jack was on his way back home, Jethro went down to the Mortuary to see Ducky...

Palmer was nowhere to be seen, for the moment.

"Hey, Duck..." Jethro said, walking in.

"Ah, Jethro, my dear!" Ducky greeted him. "How was young Lochlan J.?"

Jethro smiled. "He told me..."

"Good lad... And so he should. You made sure he knows you're not going to lynch him?" Ducky asked, tidying his instrument tray.

"I did make sure, yes..." Jethro replied. "If I left any doubt in his mind, I'd be a hypocrite."

"Absolutely." The Scotsman, Dr. Mallard, replied.

Jethro walked closer to Ducky, and reached out to stroke his back. "At least they have the freedom..."

"I know..." Donald answered, leaning in to Jethro's hand. "I'm actually grateful you and I were not around one another, when you met his mother... I would have hated to be disloyal, or make you disloyal, to your family..."

Jethro put his arms on Ducky's shoulders, and stood close enough to hug his back gently, as his was a much smaller frame... "I'm sorry I didn't tell you..."

"You always tell your team never to say that they are sorry..." Ducky pointed out, good humouredly.

"I can't deny it!" Jethro said, now hugging Ducky's waist.

"But we have to, my dear... We have to, do we not..?" Ducky turned to Jethro, and in to the embrace they then shared.

"I do love you, Duck..." Jethro answered.

"I know, dear... I know... And I love you, too, my young Marine..." Ducky replied.

Jethro grinned. "Not so young anymore..!"

Ducky looked up, and smiled. "Who's the older man in this relationship?!" He reminded his lover.
