Summary: Flyboys..arrogant or cool?!

"Well, this certainly sucks!" Major John Sheppard certainly had reason for his comment. The range of weapons aimed at he and Dr. Rodney McKay was quite impressive. He wasn't sure what the weapons did but he was relatively sure the results would be bad. Really bad.

"Oh God, we are so dead. Really, really dead. Do you have any type of plan or are we as dead as I think we are?" McKay was even more flustered than usual.

Sadly, Sheppard couldn't think of a single reassurance. He was pretty sure they were dead, too. "Now Rodney, I'm sure Ford and Teyla made it back to the gate and will be mounting a rescue soon."

"How soon?"

"Really soon, ok?"

For a few moments the only sound was that of the planet leader discussing which weapon would be used to kill the 'infidels'.

"So..basically we're going to die?"

"AH, it is a possibility."

"How good of a possibility?"

"Really good, ok?"

"Ok, can I tell you something?"

"Can it wait?"

"Wait? Wait for what, the white light? The fat lady singing? The horns of.."

"All right, Rodney. I was kidding. Is it important?"

"No, I wanted to give you my recipe for snickerdoodles. Hello, we're going to die and I want to tell you a secret..an important one."

"How important?"

"Really important. So important that I'm only telling you now because I'm relatively sure that these people will kill me before you manage to."

"Don't be dramatic Rodney..go ahead and tell me."

"Wait..you don't have a secret plan that you're waiting to implement after I tell you so you can kill me yourself, do you?"

"Oh for Gods sake, Rodney just tell me!"

"Fine. I pretty much, well that is I think ..no pretty sure..I love you, Major."

"I know."

"You know? You know? Who the hell are you, Han Solo? What is that?"

"Actually, I used to want to be Han Solo. He was cool. Part of why I wanted to learn to fly. Besides, it was a great line."

"It was a terrible line. Arrogant bastard, no wonder you liked him. 'I know', pu-lease. What is that supposed to mean, anyway?"

"It meant he understood the complexity of their relationship. He understood the fighting was pretty much all foreplay. It meant he loved her, too and everything was going to be all right. Not arrogant..cool!"

"You would think so. All you hot shot flyboys..just the same."

"Rodney, you are missing the big picture. I said the same thing to you that he said to her."

"Thank you for reminding me because imminent death short circuits my memory. I heard you the first..oh!"

"Yeah, 'oh' ..genius, huh? Do you get it now or do you need more clues?"

"Hmph"

"Oh what now?!"

"They got to kiss and as I remember it was a good kiss. Also he did tell her he loved her."

"She kissed him, and yeah it was a good one. But he didn't say it until the next movie."

"AH well I see. I guess I'll just wait until the next time we die..oh wait that won't happen. We'll already BE dead!"

"Fine, lean over here. No like this. Yeah that'll work. Rodney, I love you."

First kisses can be a wonderful thing. This one was no exception. It started as a hesitant, gentle touch but soon turned into an expression of emotions too deep for words.

It continued for so long and in such depth, that neither man realized that the weapons had lowered and the people were staring in awe.

"Major, look! I think they've realized that they misjudged us and that we aren't evil whateverthehell they called us. Ah, the power of love."

"Yeah, that OR: they see the puddle jumper that just materialized and are scared crapless. Take your pick."

"Oh, yes, I see your point, Major. Well, the love thing is still good, right?"

"Yes, Rodney the love part is still good. But please stop calling me Major. You'll give me a complex."

"Oh, yes how rude of me. Solo was a General wasn't he?"

"Haha, Rodney. Come on let's get back to our place in this galaxy far far away. And I did mean it. I love you."

"I know!"
