Summary: What happens to Daniel when the power goes out on base

Daniel at his desk

Three Days he had been working, three days straight of sitting in his office, his back moulding to the form of his chair, his neck with more knots in it then a boy scout's rope practice and his head felt like a rock balancing on the edge of a cliff. Carding his hair once more and letting out a breath of frustration he continued typing. 74,567 words he had written if he was reading the fuzzing numbers at the bottom of the screen correctly.

Two hours later with a relieved smile he typed in the last few words. Now it was a simple as clicking the save button and he could go home yep just that simple little button just one click. As he mouse neared said button however the base's power went out and his screen went blank. He sat there transfixed at the black in complete shock of what just happened. Slowly he eyes closed shut and his jaw clenched, hoping that when he opened his tired eyes his work would still be there. Just one eye opened to peek at the screen; yep still blank his eye closed again and his jaw tighted so much it might brake if it were any tighter. 'Just take a deep breath your supposed to be the nice one remember? The one who doesn't blow his top at small things like THREE DAYS worth of work being wiped clean in a matter of seconds....okay, okay calm down this isn't helping, oh great now I'm talking to myself, sure just give Mackenzie another reason to send you back to that ..... let's not go there shall we? Oh goodie now I'm asking myself permission to-'

Anymore thoughts about arguing to himself were cut short as two strong hand came to rest briefly on his shoulders before moving down his chest as the owner's elbows took their place ."You look tense Daniel", came the warm, soft whispered breath on his ear that sent shivers down his spine. Before he could say a word the hands were traveling back up to his shoulders and began kneading his neck. Closing his eyes, Daniel lent back into the chair resting his head against the pillow of abs behind him as the hands continued to chase away the day's stress. Soon the hands were under his chin tilting his head back as warm lips met his, which he felt curve into a smile as he tried to say something. "I said", Daniel having interpreted the silent question correctly when they had parted, "Not here Jack, someone might catch us". Jack scrunched up his nose as he gave a small smile before stealing another kiss from the slow archeaologist. "Daniel, who else but you would be up at four in the morning besides those who have to be here." Daniel just gave a devilish grin, all work forgotten as he spun he chair so he was facing Jack. "....Well", he began rising from the chair,

Jack and Daniel talk

"You're here...", he continued, advancing on Jack until he was backed up to one of the counters.

"Yes well the briefing is in-", Daniel silenced the Colonel quickly and effectively with one deep kiss. Wrapping his hands around Jack's head pinning him in place, not that he was meeting any resistance mind you. Braking the kiss reluctantly Daniel pulled back admiring the dazed look he was responsible for. "Sure you were", he whispered heading back to his chair. He was about to sit down when something hard gripped him around the stomach and pushed him into the other counter knocking various papers to the floor as he wriggled onto it when Jack began trailing butterfly kisses down his neck. "Jaaaaacck", Daniel whined as he noticed the mess all over his floor. Muttering Jack scoped down and retrieved the papers placing them on the desk before returning his attention back to Daniel. "That's better", Daniel breathed as Jack resumed his position at Daniel's neck. He didn't get far before Daniel was removing his jacket and tossing it across the room where it landed in a crumpled heap against the wall. Any and all protests were silenced as Daniel began mirroring Jack's moves smiling as Jack's throat hummed with a moan as he hit the mark right behind Jack's ear.

Daniel's breath suddenly hitched in his throat as Jack's cool hands come into contact with the heated flesh of his stomach. He rested his forehead on Jack's shoulder that shook with silent laughter as snakes of goosebump trails followed in wake of Jack roaming fingers. Now it was Jack's turn to falter as cool air was blown over the wet patch Daniel had been sucking into his neck. As Jack's hands continued their exploration Daniel began to tugging at the hem of Jack's shirt pulling it over his head so it could join the jacket. He only had a quick glimpse of the hair speckled chest before his vision was obsrcured by his own shirt as Jack had set about removing it. Daniel shivered as the rush of cool air hit his bare skin sending goosebumps prickling over his entire chest.

Jack was about to move in for another kiss when the computer gave a sudden whirl of life and the lights flickered back on flooding the room in their pale light. "Damn I guess I'll have to go back to work now.....", Daniel trailed off as he ran his hands lightly down Jack's chest as he jumped down from the counter and stepped passed Jack, his hand still trailing along Jack's chest and over his shoulder, smiling to himself as Jack caught his hand and pulled him back so their skin touched. "Daniel.....", the voice was so full of amusement that he was sorely tempted to resume, but he had to try and salvage whatever was left of his work. "Jack.....", he replied peeling himself off so he could face the other man. "I have to get back to work", he stated as he pulled off one of his pouty faces that he knew made Jack melt at the knees.

Jack and Daniel

Jack tried more desperately then usual to try and pay attention to Sam and her technobabble, not just cause it was his job but also because Daniel was sitting behind him at that moment running his foot up the back of Jack's leg making it near to impossible to pay attention to anything. Daniel however was trying to hide his amusement as he watched Jack squirm in his seat. "Dr Jackson?" Daniel removed his foot much to the relief of Jack, "Yes Sir?", he asked politely, turning his chair to face the General. "Do you have some thing to add to this discussion?"

"Yes Sir", he replied picking up the freshly printed papers that the computer thankfully auto saved before the blackout. The next two hours dwindled away like sand through a very large hourglass. By which time Jack had fallen asleep, Teal'c looked like he had slipped into kel'no'reem, General Hammond had this unfocused look about his eyes and Sam was still wide awake. "So you're saying that the tribe uses the naquada as a sort of sacrafice, to the 'dead false gods'?", she added with a small grin as Daniel finished. "Yes", He replied shortly, walking up to Jack and whacking him on the head with the stack of papers, resounding with a loud echo that seem to bring everyone back to life.

Before Jack could start yelling General Hammond broke in, "Good work people, you ship out tomorrow at 09:00 dismissed." Jack waited until everybody had left before he rounded on Daniel. "What did you whack me on the head for?"

"Well you weren't paying attention and you fell asleep", Daniel replied crossly.

"Look, I had to keep up the act, people will notice if I start paying attention now."

"Fine", was all Daniel said as they set off down the hall.

"How about next time you just nudge me awake or something?", Jack said when they reached Daniel's office. Daniel didn't reply until he was back in his office and just his head was sticking out of the door. "I remember what happened the last time I nudged you awake and I don't think it would be appropriate for the briefing room." Before Jack could respond Daniel flashed him one more smile before closing the door. Daniel laughed to himself as he heard the tell-tale thud on his door as Jack's head made contact.

Man he could be so cruel.
