Summary: Jack's plan is set in motion and so is Daniel's
Info: Notes: God I didn't realize how long it took me to get back to this! Sorry it's taken such a very long time, don't you just hate having to work for a living! It's only a short part but the next is almost written and I wanted to post something (finally) to keep people going including me!!!!!!
"Daniel, I'm really not sure this is such a good idea," Sam fussed, as she helped Jacob attach the memory device to him.
Looking up and taking her hand in his, "Sam you've seen the way he's been acting around me. Even for Jack that's not normal."
He smiled gently at her, "Now he's disappeared with Thor and I have to know what's going on. Surely you understand that?"
"Yes, I understand. I'd do the same thing if I were in your place." She squeezed his hand, "I'm just worried about you."
Glancing at Jacob and then back to his friend, "I know. I'll be fine." Jacob snorted at that comment and then coughed to try to cover it.
"Daniel, I can understand your need for the truth but Selmac and I are both a little concerned about you doing this on your own."
Once Jacob had arrived and said his hello's to George, Daniel and Sam had spirited him away to a VIP room. Here Daniel had explained that he wished to use the memory device on his own with no one present in the room.
"Jacob, I don't have any idea what I might remember or how damaging it might be to myself or," he paused, looking down, "or anyone else. I need to have privacy."
Sam knelt beside the bed, "but Daniel what if something happens or goes wrong?"
Smiling he told her, "then you, Jacob or Teal'c will be right outside the door. Right?" He fingered the radio that lay beside him. This he decided was how it had to be. Daniel had been having some very awful ideas about why Jack might be avoiding him and there were only a few real possibilities that he could think of. None of which he hoped he was capable of. He hadn't prayed this much in a long time.
"Okay, I think we're ready," Jacob said, moving away form the machine.
If only that were true, Daniel thought.

"So Thor buddy, do this kind of thing often?" Jack was trying to hide his nervousness and if it had been anyone but Thor he would probably be failing. Badly!
Presently, he was lying on a bed with things stuck to his head and stomach, lights kept flashing and scanning and as seemed to be a common theme in his life, he really had know idea what the hell was going on.
"I believe your idea will work O'Neill. From the data I have gathered so far the foetus is in perfect health as are you. With the exception of human age related defects."
Rolling his eyes, "Gee, thanks for the compliments Thor I'm under whelmed here." Jack rolled his eyes to the side to look at the small grey alien, "erm, so your, er sure that, you know, the baby's ok and everything. I mean it's absolutely not gonna have two heads or mutant physic powers or anything like that?"
"No, O'Neill everything appears normal, as it should with the DNA of two healthy parents."
"Okay, that's good." Just as suddenly as Jack had begun to relax, his head shot up again. "Wait two healthy parents? You know who, I mean there are only two? Which two?"
If Asgard were able to look confused, Jack was sure this was the look, "yes O'Neill, you and Dr Jackson will soon be the proud parents of a healthy baby."
Jack sank back on to the bed and a huge grin began to spread across his face. Daniel. Daniel was the father, well, other father of his child. The knot in Jack's stomach that he'd seemed to have for days began to disappear. Relief washed over him. He could do this. He could do this with Daniel. Well, he hoped he could, if they could get past all the other crap and Daniel could forgive him for being a complete jerk to him the past few days.
But still it was Daniel. It gave Jack a warm fuzzy feeling inside, which he would totally deny if asked, to think about Daniel and their child. He should be disturbed on so many levels thinking like this about his best friend, but Jack was determined to blame it on his fluctuating hormones. Yeah, that was it, hormones. It was his excuse and he was damn well sticking to it!
"So, Thor, about getting my memory back?"
