Daniel had been recounting how useless Doctor Lee was in comparison to Sam at seat-of-your-pants science, but he fell silent when Doctor Fraiser stopped at the foot of Sam's bed and picked up her medical chart. Sam's attention was entirely fixated on the Doctor, who seemed to be deliberately ignoring her as she flipped through the pages on the clipboard. Daniel looked from one woman to the other, the corner of Sam's eyes twitched and she looked like she was trying very hard not to smile. Janet on the other hand was a picture of composure as she studied one of the pages. After a few moments she wrote something carefully on the sheet and flipped the pages back to the beginning to return the chart to the foot of Sam's bed. There was the barest flicker of eye contact between the two women before Janet turned with a click of her heels and a flick of her head and disappeared off into the infirmary.

"What was that about?" Daniel asked, watching as Sam peered to make sure Janet was gone and then crawled down the infirmary bed to grab the chart. She rustled through the pages and found the one Janet had written something on. Whatever Janet had written seemed to please her as a bright grin spread across her face.

"Sam?"

She had picked up a pen and was poised over the sheet of paper, but she finally looked up at him.

"Oh, this?" She waved the pen at him and he nodded. "Janet and I are playing hangman."

"Via your medical charts while you're in the infirmary?"

"Yes"

"Isn't that a bit, slow?"

She gave him a grin that was uncharacteristically mischievous, "you don't know what the winner gets."
